Quality policy

MAZALMENDRA, aware of the importance of Quality and Food Safety when it comes to satisfying customer needs, has implemented a Quality and Food Safety Management System.

The concept of total quality management is encouraged at all times, so doing things right the first time as standard is an approach that ensures all members of staff play a part in improving the process, products, services and working culture, regardless of the task they have to perform, becoming a collective task that involves all levels in the organisation.

Management periodically sets quality objectives to define our path and how we direct the efforts of our organisation. The general guidelines are:

High-quality processes to meet and exceed our customers’ expectations, providing them with safe products of the highest quality, in accordance with requirements and specifications established and with the legislation currently in force.

Adoption of Food Safety Measures to ensure the safety and suitability of our products  complying with the obligations in terms of critical areas, labelling of allergens and GMOs, traceability, etc.

Efficient management and process control, continuous improvement.

Continuous efforts to identify characterise and minimise the negative environmental impact for sustainable development.

The management, aware of the importance of the human component in achieving these objectives, adopts all necessary measures to protect the health and safety of workers in terms of occupational risk prevention and health monitoring.

Human resources policy

Mazalmendra in its desire to promote and propagate the company, offers opportunities for enthusiastic, motivated people indentify with the company’s objectives and who want to develop their professional career with us, promoting initiatives and encouraging innovation.

Every single employee in our company is vital to its development. From the management to those responsible for quality controls and R&D&I, through to the cleaning, administration, human resources, sales and logistics staff. The diversity of “our employees is our main” asset in terms of skills that combine experience, know-how, professionalism and dedication.

Our values include:

Respecting diversity and promoting equal opportunities, as well as non-discrimination based on gender, age, disability or any other circumstance. Currently, women comprise over 75% of the workforce.

Commitment to rural development, favouring the development of the area and thus avoiding depopulation.

Establishing measures to help bring together work, private and family life. A healthy work-life balance promotes the well-being of workers.

Effective health and safety policies to ensure the safety of the staff and safeguard the health of all employees.

A continuous training program for all employees.

Promoting a culture of social commitment and shared values among employees.

Environmental policy

Mazalmendra contributes to the protection of the environment by adopting policies to promote zero waste practices and enforcing a strict waste separation policy.

To this end, we work closely with our suppliers and customers to find the best solution to achieve this, using, wherever possible, 100% recyclable or reusable materials and optimising energy consumption by carrying out “greenhouse gas” emission balances.

Our facilities have sufficient human and technical resources to meet the needs of our customers, respecting the environment and promoting the sustainable development of the company.

Employee collaboration, in the exercise of their professional activity, is key to achieving these environmental commitments.

The respect for animal welfare standards is another of our concerns. In this area, we work to implement a sustainable purchasing policy, promoting the use of free-range eggs.

Certifications

We are certified in IFS and BRC, essential standards in all our processes that guarantee our commitment to quality and food safety, priorities of our company.

We have the RSPO MB certificate which guarantees that the palm oil used in the manufacture of the additives in our products comes from socially sustainable palm.

We also belong to the UTZ cocoa register, which allows us to produce our bases with cocoa from sustainable plantations.

Our suppliers have the SAE system, guaranteeing that the eggs we use meet the necessary requirements for our products to be exported.

We are able to manufacture Kosher or Halal products at the request of our customers.

Social commitment begins within the company itself, with our workers, customers and suppliers involved and working together in an ethical and sustainable manner. These values reflect the corporate culture and the way we conduct our day-to-day business.

To make this commitment effective, we have the Smeta 4 Pillars Certification, an ethical trade certification for SEDEX members, which guarantees our suppliers and collaborators the socially responsible operation of the entire supply chain. The system is based on 4 pillars:

Workplace standards
BUSINESS INTEGRITY
HEALTH AND HYGIENE
ENVIRONMENT

El sistema SEDEX crea una base de datos en la que los miembros pueden almacenar, compartir y reviser la información sobre prácticas éticas en su cadena de suministro.
